There are Landscape designs and then there are AMazing Landscape Designs.

AMD are pleased to announce we have started our latest Landscape design project.



Set on a challenging plot with an equally challenging brief (both of which AMD love), you will see from the attached photos, it really is going to make use of our design skills and creativity. The plot adjacent to their house was purchased over a year ago to allow parking their cars much easier as they currently have only one way in and out without the ability to turn the cars around. The existing garage is planned to be converted into a dwelling for their parents in the future, this will also have an allowance for a parking bay and a winding path leading to the main house.



After several landscape designers and Architects visited to look over the site and take on the project but did not return, they were left feeling dejected and at a loss as to how they could achieve their dreams. AMD were recommended by #Kieran O'Hara after he visited our client to discuss their project and drainage issues. We will be working collaboratively with #Kieran, at Holdgate Consulting Ltd, who will be providing their Engineering expertise. We are very much looking forward to working with Kieran again as it has been a while.



The brief:

· Vehicular access from both sides of the land with an area to park a car, allowing access to the adjacent garden area. This will have a new path leading down to the back door. A covered car port will be planned in this area (future project). The new driveway design preference is to be a resin covered design (price allowing) with colour to match existing finishes.

· New fencing around the perimeter of the land to match the existing fencing adjacent to the garage. This will be full height along the lane leading up to the garage and will drop down to a lower level on the approach to the rear of the house to allow visibility to oncoming cars.

· The existing greenhouse and planters nearby will be relocated to allow for the new driveway, the greenhouse will be situated to have more shade than its current location.

·  A new log store is to be included.

·  A new summerhouse / garden room is to be incorporated into the design, this will allow for privacy and make the most of the orientation of the plot.

·  The re-use of all existing stone will form part of any structural / feature areas.

·  Designated planting zones will be shown on the plan, these can be a mixture of raised and ground level to suit.

·   Seating area with firepit.



Additional design consideration exercise:

·  Vehicle access from the current access point only, with space to turn the cars within the plot.

·  Space to park a car - or two - behind / to the side of the Garage.
